Come join other enthusiastic
yogis on a playful and exciting journey in the exploration
of Anusara® Yoga. Deepen your own practice and understanding
of yoga on the mat and explore the depth and breadth of its
power to transform your life. This Immersion is designed for
the dedicated student who wants to delve into the practice
of Anusara Yoga in an interactive and expansive environment.
While this program is a
prerequisite for Anusara Yoga teacher training, there is no
pressure to teach yoga or any instruction on how to teach,
only the delight and challenge of basking in the deeper
knowledge of this practice. In this comprehensive workshop,
every aspect of Anusara Yoga will be explored in detail,
including all asanas from the Level 1 and 2 syllabi, yoga
history, two classic texts, as well as an in-depth
exploration of the Universal Principles of Alignment. The
course will be offered in three different sections. Each day dynamic asana will be taught
and ideas about this practice of conscious heart-based
living will be shared as a “kula,” the Sanskrit word for
community.
Immersion Level
I
We will begin by
exploring Tantric philosophy and the lineage of Anusara.
You will become familiar with the most important,
fundamental philosophical concepts that this practice is
based on, as well as the Universal Principles of Alignment,
meditation, pranayama, anatomy, and the Level I Syllabus of
Asanas. (Weekends 1 & 2)
Immersion Level
II
Looking back at
the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali will act as a guide to
understanding the beginnings of this practice in Classical
Yoga. We will refine our technique and practice through the
Level II Syllabus of Asanas, and begin more refined
meditation and pranayama practices. (Weekends 3, 4 &5)
Immersion Level
III
We will
culminate at a place where we can apply the fundamentals of
this practice to subtler, energetic concepts such as the
Chakras, Ayurveda, and the Malas.
We will study the Bhagavad Gita
in depth to expand upon our understanding of yoga
philosophy, and we will delve deeper into subtle alignment
by exploring therapeutics. (Weekends 6, 7 & 8)
